Welcome to the Arkansas Public Law Center (APLC)
The APLC is a non-profit, nonpartisan, tax-exempt, advocacy organization founded in 2010 and dedicated to public justice and civil rights in Arkansas. We pursue cases that raise issues of broad public importance by engaging in legal action to safeguard the interests of the public. In this regard, we seek to challenge policies and practices that are unlawful, injure the public welfare, or violate the U.S. or Arkansas Constitutions. Examples of issues that we consider include but are not limited to claims involving freedom of information and government transparency, infringements of First Amendment freedoms, violations of constitutionally-guaranteed equal protection, insufficient or inadequate funding for public education, discrimination in the provision and regulation of public services, and environmental and public health issues.
